Overview of Qimen Dunjia
Introduction
Qimen Dunjia is one of the most famous ancient Chinese metaphysical arts, known as the "Study of Emperors." It integrates knowledge of astronomy, calendars, yin and yang, and the five elements, and is primarily used in military strategy, decision-making, and prediction.
What is Qimen Dunjia?
Qimen Dunjia is composed of three concepts: "Qi," "Men," and "Dunjia":
- Qi: Refers to the three auspicious 'Qi' (乙, 丙, 丁)
- Men: Refers to the eight 'Men' (gates: Rest, Life, Injury, Delusion, Scenery, Death, Fear, Open)
- Dun Jia: Refers to the six 'Jia' (甲) hiding beneath the six 'Yi' (仪)
Historical Origins
Legend has it that Qimen Dunjia originated when the Yellow Emperor fought Chiyou, and was taught by the Goddess Jiutian Xuannü. Many famous figures throughout history, such as Jiang Taigong, Zhuge Liang, and Liu Bowen, were all masters of this art.

The Qimen Dunjia chart consists of the following elements:
